Seed Oil Sam ("we", "our", or "the app") is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what data the app accesses, how it is used, and your rights regarding that data.

Data We Collect

Seed Oil Sam accesses the following:

• Camera — Used solely to photograph food items for analysis. Photos are processed and then discarded; they are not stored on your device or our servers.
• Food scan results — Ingredient lists, processed scores, and recommended alternatives generated from your scans are stored locally on your device.
• Food journal entries — If you use the food tracking feature, your logged meals and preferences are stored locally on your device.

No User Accounts

Seed Oil Sam does not require you to create an account. We do not collect your name, email address, or any other personal information.

Third-Party Services

The app uses the following third-party services to provide its functionality:

• Google Gemini AI — When you scan a food item, the photo is converted to image data and sent to Google's Generative Language API for ingredient identification and health scoring. The image is processed transiently and is not retained by Google beyond the processing request. This service is subject to Google's API Terms of Service.
• USDA Food Data Central API — Product names may be sent to the USDA's public food database for nutritional information lookups. No personal data is transmitted in these requests.

Data Storage

All scan history, food journal entries, user preferences, and saved swaps are stored locally on your device. No data is stored on external servers or in the cloud.

Data Sharing

We do not sell, share, or transfer your data to third parties, except as described above in connection with food analysis (Google Gemini AI and USDA API). These services receive only the data necessary to perform the analysis and do not receive any personally identifiable information.

Data Retention and Deletion

Since all data is stored locally on your device, you have full control over it. You can delete all app data at any time by:

• Deleting the Seed Oil Sam app from your device
• Clearing the app's storage in your device settings

Children's Privacy

Seed Oil Sam is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can take appropriate action.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated effective date. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.
